Video Games Translators - Japanese to German, French, Spanish or Italian

Location: London or Remote
Salary: £39,000 – £59,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:30 – 17:30 (1-hour lunch break)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Video Games Translators - Japanese to German, French, Spanish or Italian to contribute to the localisation of a wide range of content, including video games, websites, mobile apps, and product packaging, ensuring accuracy, cultural relevance, and linguistic quality for  German, French, Spanish or Italian speaking markets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Translate and proofread video game content and related media from Japanese into either German, French, Spanish or Italian
  • Collaborate with editors, project coordinators, and localisation managers to ensure consistent high-quality translations
  • Work on a variety of media formats and platforms, maintaining brand tone and style
  • Manage glossaries and translation memories
  • Ensure deadlines are met across multiple simultaneous projects

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Native-level German, French, Spanish or Italian  + fluency in Japanese
  • Previous video game  translation experience - essential 
  • Strongattention to detail and cultural nuance
  • Experience withCAT tools, especially MemoQ, and ability to learn new software
  • Proficient inMicrosoft Word and Excel
  • Creative, collaborative, and able to work under pressure in a team environment
  • Experience with managing existing glossaries and localisation workflows
