French Transcreation Specialist – Video Games


Location
London (Hybrid) or Fully Remote (UK). This position offers the flexibility of fully remote working or a hybrid role in London.


Salary
£25 - £30 per hour (c£50,000 per annum)

We're recruiting on behalf of a globally recognised video games and entertainment company behind some of the world's biggest gaming franchises, mobile apps and entertainment brands. This is an exciting opportunity to join an international localisation team responsible for creating engaging content for millions of players worldwide


The Job
As a French speaking Transcreation Specialist, you will creatively adapt gaming and marketing content for Spanish or French-speaking audiences. Rather than producing literal translations, you'll ensure every piece of content resonates culturally while maintaining the original tone, humour, emotion and brand identity. You'll work closely with localisation managers, editors, marketing teams and game developers on a wide range of exciting global projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Transcreate video game content, marketing campaigns and promotional materials into French
• Adapt copy for cultural relevance while maintaining the original creative intent
• Work on trailers, websites, social media, in-game events, store pages, advertising campaigns and player communications
• Ensure consistency of tone of voice across all platforms
• Collaborate with localisation teams, copywriters and project managers
• Review and edit content to ensure linguistic quality and brand consistency
• Maintain terminology databases, style guides and glossaries
• Work with CAT tools and localisation platforms where required
• Deliver high-quality work within project deadlines

Candidate Profile

• Native-level French and also fluent English
• Proven experience in transcreation, creative translation or gaming localisation
• Experience adapting content for the video games, entertainment or digital media industry
• Outstanding copywriting and creative writing skills in your native language
• Excellent understanding of cultural nuances and local market preferences
• Experience using CAT tools (MemoQ, Trados or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
• Passion for video games and interactive entertainment

Salary
£25 - £30 per hour (c£49,000 – £59,000 per annum depending on experience) . Freelance opportunity
Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 5:30pm
Fully remote or hybrid working options
