Our client, based in Buckinghamshire, is a world leading company. Working with a variety of industry clients, they specialise in many translation areas including financial, medical, pharmaceutical, chemical and engineering.
They currently wish to recruit a German, French or Italian (at least 2 of these languages) speaking Translation Proofreader to join their international translation teams.
Your position will include the following responsibilities:
- Word-by-word checking of translations prepared by technical staff from either German, French or Italian (at least 2 of these languages) INTO English
- Adapting existing translations to conform to new versions of documents
- General office work relating to the finishing and dispatch of translations
To be considered, you must have the following skills:
- English to mother tongue + fluency in 2 of the following languages: German, French or Italian
- Educated to degree/university level in a German, French or Italian languages discipline - at least to a 2:1 level
- An ability to work quickly and proof read from German, French or Italian INTO English
- Experience of TRADOS is an advantage but not essential
Starting salary is £19,000 + paid overtime plus pension, private medical insurance and corporate gym membership. Opportunities to progress to trainee translator then full translator status are available.
