Our client, based in west London,  is a world famous import and export company.

They currently have an urgent requirement for a Purchasing Coordinator to join their international operations team.

Your main role will be to plan, co-ordinate and monitor the supply of stock to meet the demands of the supply chain and your key responsibilities will include:

  • Raising purchase orders & managing the delivery schedule
  • Close liaison with Sales/Product Development & Customer Services to forecast, plan stock levels and monitor product performance
  • Analyse sales and stock levels to ensure stock outs are kept to a minimum
  • Identify production and supply issues and deal with them effectively
  • Purchasing and stocking of company’s product range
  • Taking responsibility for co-ordinating and ordering stock
  • Developing excellent ongoing relationships with suppliers in order to improve the stock ordering process and negotiating where necessary
  • Liaising with supply chain manufacturers (mainly based in Italy) on a daily basis. 
  • Ensuring that launch timetables are met by working closely with the suppliers and the product department

To be considered for this position you should have the following background:

  • Fluency in English. Fluency also in Italian is a strong advantage
  • Graduate calibre, with excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong reporting and communication skills
  • An excellent eye for detail
  • Work well under pressure but must also be a key team player
  • Previous experience in the textile or home wares industry is ideal, but not essential
  • Good IT skills, especially Excel
